Linda Morgan, author of Beyond Smart: Boosting Your Child’s Social, Emotional, and Academic Potential, is contributing editor of Seattle magazine and the publication’s former managing editor. Her articles, which span a myriad of topics, have appeared in magazines and newspapers across the country, and she has been quoted in numerous publications, including the New York Times and Metro New York.
The former managing editor of ParentMap, Morgan lectures on subjects ranging from fostering resilience and strengthening kids’ characters, to multigenerational travel and curbing over-indulgence. As on-air parenting expert for KING 5, Seattle’s NBC affiliate, she contributes segments on parenting and college prep, and appeared regularly on KING’s “Parent-to-Parent” series. Morgan has been interviewed widely on radio and television.
A Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of California at Berkeley with a journalism masters from UCLA, Morgan has been recognized both regionally and nationally with dozens of journalism awards. Her work was included in the 7th edition of the book, Perspectives on Argument, by Pearson, Inc.
